Martingale and Aggressive Averaging: now allowed but not recommended

Updated this week

Updated July 28, 2025

As of July 28, 2025, Martingale Trading & Aggressive Averaging is no longer listed among our prohibited trading practices. This decision was made after an internal review of our risk management framework. We concluded that existing protections — namely, the Maximum Risk limit on open trades and the Daily Loss Limit on challenges — already effectively mitigate the excessive risk typically associated with this trading practice.

That said, while this practice is now allowed, we want to make it clear that we do not recommend incorporating Martingale Trading or Aggressive Averaging into your trading strategy. These approaches are high-risk, hope-based method where traders increase position sizes to chase a recovery after losses—assuming they’ll win eventually, which go against the core principles of responsible risk management.

But markets don’t guarantee anything. And this approach leads to one thing: inevitable blow-ups.

To clarify:

  • You will not be penalized for using Martingale or Aggressive Averaging.

  • Your account will not be breached solely for applying these strategies.

  • However, we strongly advise against relying on them as a consistent approach.

Our team continuously monitors trading behavior to ensure fairness and sustainability across all accounts. Although these strategies are no longer explicitly restricted, they remain a red flag from a risk perspective.

If you’re unsure whether your strategy may be considered high-risk feel free to contact our support team.
