How does metrics recalculation work?

Updated over a week ago

Understanding how our trading metrics are recalculated is essential for getting the most out of your strategy.

This process happens automatically every trading day—and it directly impacts key risk parameters on your account.

Let’s break down what happens and when. 👇

🕛 Recalculation time: Midnight (UTC +0)

At the end of each trading day, exactly at 00:00 UTC, our systems automatically recalculate core risk metrics for your next session.

Here’s what changes:

  • 📉 Max Daily Loss Limit → recalculated for the next day (for ProTrader and StartTrader accounts)

  • 📸 High Water Mark (HWM) → updated snapshot taken (for SwiftTrader accounts)

  • 🔁 Daily Profit Cap (DPC) or Daily Loss Cap (DLC) → resets and trading is re-enabled if capped on the previous day

📌 It doesn’t matter where you’re trading from—midnight UTC is the reference point for everyone.

Important note:

Between 00:00–00:03 UTC, our systems may experience slight recalculation delays due to high traffic (thousands of accounts being processed simultaneously).

This is completely normal—your dashboard will update shortly after.

💡 Why it matters

If you're planning trades around session ends or holding overnight positions, understanding this timing gives you a strategic edge.

Knowing when metrics reset helps you optimize risk, avoid surprises, and trade like a pro.

Fintokei backs real traders—and real traders know their metrics.
