What does the rule “Minimum 3 profitable days" mean?

Updated this week

At Fintokei, we’re not just evaluating if you made profit—we’re evaluating if your strategy looks like something that could last.

That’s why, before you can pass your ProTrader challenge phase, or receive your payout from a ProTrader virtually funded account, you need to show at least 3 separate days with a net profit.

✅ What qualifies as a “profitable day”?

A profitable day is defined as:

• A day on which the difference between the end of day (EOD = 00:00 UTC) Equity and the previous EOD (previous UTC 00:00) Equity generates a positive profit of at least 0.5% of the Initial Balance (or Scaled Balance).

EOD Equity - Previous EOD Equity > 0.5% of Initial Balance (or Scaled Balance)

📌 These do not have to be consecutive days—they just need to be separate and profitable.

📌 Also, your account does not need to be in profit from the Initial Balance, i.e. it can be in overall drawdown, in order to achieve a profitable day. Your EOD Equity just needs to be 0.5% more profitable than the previous day EOD Equity.

📌 Furthermore, the 3 profitable days can actually come from 1 single trade that was open for at least 3 days, if it generated the required daily Equity profits.

The “Minimum 3 profitable days” rule applies to:

ProTrader evaluation and virtually funded accounts

As regarding the virtually funded ProTrader accounts, customers must meet the “Minimum 3 profitable days” requirement before being able to submit the Performance Reward request within each billing cycle.

📊 Let’s look at a practical example 👇

We have a ProTrader account with an initial balance of 100,000 EUR, where 0.5% of the starting balance equals 500 EUR. Simply put, to meet the condition and count one profitable day, you would need to achieve a daily profit of at least 500 EUR by the end of the trading day. Once achieved, you can mark one profitable day as completed, with two more to go.

Now let’s move a bit further and let’s imagine the previous day’s EOD equity was 103,200 EUR. At the start of the new trading day, you were charged swaps for holding multiple positions overnight. During the day, you closed those positions in profit, bringing your current equity to 103,900 EUR. If you leave your account untouched for the rest of the day, you will have achieved a profitable day, as your EOD Equity increased by 0.7% compared to the previous EOD equity, exceeding the required 0.5%.

However, if you continue trading actively, have an open trade in loss, and finish the day with an EOD equity below 103,700 EUR (calculated as 103,200 EUR + 500 EUR), this day will not qualify as a profitable day.

To complete the example, let’s assume you achieved a profitable day with the EOD equity of 103,900 EUR. This means the following day will begin with equity of 103,900 EUR. For the next day to also qualify as a profitable day, your goal would be to end the day with the equity of at least 104,400 EUR (103,900 EUR + 500 EUR).

Remember, our system works and calculates everything on Equity, and not Balance. Should you keep your trades open overnight, the EOD Equity will be different from the EOD Balance. Therefore please always keep a close eye to your Equity, as it is the most crucial metrics to track your progress. 👀📊

🧠 Why this rule exists

This rule helps us filter out strategies that:

• Rely on a single lucky trade

• Show big wins on one day, but nothing repeatable after

• Don’t give us enough data to analyze your trading properly

We’re looking for consistency, not coincidence. And 3 profitable days is the bare minimum to start proving you can repeat results.

⚠️ What if I made the profit target on a ProTrader account in just two trades?

You’ll still need to keep trading until you’ve reached at least 3 profitable days

There’s no penalty though—you keep your profits and progress. You just can’t upgrade to another phase, or request a payout until this requirement is met.

✅ Want to make it smooth?

Aim for smaller, consistent gains. You don’t need big, one-off, numbers—just repeatable results.

If you’re trading with structure and risk control, this rule won’t slow you down.

Fintokei backs real traders. Not one-hit wonders.

📌 3 profitable days is where sustainability starts.
